COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is designed to permit individuals already in possession of basic skills and knowledge of human pathophysiology in the context of both high and low dose radiological threat to review the factors most relevant to human recovery and survival. Mechanisms of injury will be examined and specific recommendations with respect to routine and critical laboratory studies and their timing will also be discussed. The characteristics of common contaminants are considered and specific therapy outlines including the recommended practices for external and internal decontamination are reviewed. Specific therapeutic procedures and guidelines for combined injury are discussed and folded into an overall milieu of therapeutic support. *Podcasting is available for this course.
